The new season has started and The Hawks begun their matches by playing a hard fought encounter v Wilby a Kettering Cricket club. With a few key players away it was a chance to give League debuts to Rico, Sam & Jack and Rico enjoyed the game by scoring on his debut but unfortunately we went down 4-1 to a loss.
With the weather still fine we have decided to run a few more saturday morning coaching sessions between 9.45 & 11.15am providing this doesnt clash with matches to supplement the ongoing winter schedule at tresham. It makes sense as the cricket club site is quiet now the cricket season has finished and it will give us some much needed extra time playing together as we have a few new players.
Currently the squad is full and whilst we have had 3 enquiries for spaces the team is not looking to sign any players for matches as the league rules only allow 5 extra players in attendance on match games and we dont feel it would be fair setting up a rota system.
There is a Committe meeting on Saturday 20th Sept at the cricket club to discuss future plans for next season including a possible starter team and also to look at the £3000 grant project which we need to plan to get started.
